Action was initiated to establish the following energy generating facilities by
the private sector:

• A 3 MW Paddy husk fired power plant in Polonnaruwa
• A 2x 3 MW Paddy husk/Gliricidia biomass power plants in Dehiattakandiya.
• A 5 MW Co-Generation biomass (Gliricidia) power plant at Thulhiriya.
